This installation involved a Automower 450x for a larger lawn in a beautiful garden and the customer also has a 315 Automower installed on a smaller lawn. The customer had a requirement that we often encounter: daffodils that appeared in the spring and died off during the rest of the year. Naturally, the customer wanted the mower to leave these areas alone until they had finished blooming.
The simple solution was to place wooden barriers around the daffodil beds to prevent them from being mowed. The barrier stops the mower physically and when it gently “bumps”, a micro switch operates to halt the wheel motors and make it reverse and turn away. When required, the barriers can be removed to allow the Automower to enter these areas so that they would be cut with the rest of the lawn.
This installation was also done with the extreme safety cable, designed to prevent breaks. We are now offering installations with various types of perimeter cable depending on the customer needs.
We returned to this customer to extend his Automower installation across the drive and also through a gate to another lawn.
