Why we love Robotic Lawnmowers
View lawns which have a robot Lawn mower
It’s so easy
Lawn mowing can be time consuming and hard work; and a healthy lawn doesn’t come easily, unless you install a high quality robot mower. Robotic mowers such as Husqvarna Automower and Stihl iMow aren’t just lawnmowers. It’s a robotic concept that does the work for you — without your supervision, around the clock.
Working day or night, rain or shine
A random travelling pattern allows your robot mower to find every corner of your garden. It can easily handle wet and rainy conditions, as well as difficult terrain, including slopes, holes and even temporary obstacles like pinecones and fruits. Robot mowers such as Automower or iMow are so quiet that they can work in the night without disturbing anyone. Through the mower app, available for selected models, you’ll also have total control of the working hours, so you can have the lawn to yourself whenever you like.
Keeps your grass healthy
The robotic mower will constantly cut the grass as it grows. This is by far the gentlest way to cut grass. Whereas ordinary mowing usually takes off several centimetres which are then collected and removed, the clippings from robot mowers are only a few millimetres long. These clippings will mulch down into the soil, fertilizing your lawn.
No need to collect clippings
Robot mowers leave tiny clippings that you won’t notice; there is no need to collect them. By leaving them you naturally fertilise your lawn.
Useless if stolen
Nearly everyone who is considering a robot mower worries about losing their new machine to criminals. In practice there are almost no reported incidents of theft – most self-respecting thieves are fully aware of the consequences. Husqvarna Automower and Stihl’s iMow have protection against theft in several ways. A pin code is required for any intervention. An alarm will immediately sound if the code is ignored when the mower is stopped or lifted. It is useless if stolen; it can’t operate with other charging stations. And when reported stolen it will be registered as such and identified as soon as any attempt is made to put it into operation.
Finds its way home
The machines are guided by boundary wires around your garden. Within that area it moves in irregular patterns so that there are no lines or traces of mowing in the grass.
Recharges itself
Robot lawn mowers are battery-driven and come with a charging station, connected to your electrical garden outlet. When it is finished mowing it automatically returns to the recharging station.
Complex gardens
The Automower and iMow can handle big and complex gardens with many various obstacles. It has no problems mowing lawns with inclines of up to 45% (24°).
Almost invisible installation and effortless operation
Husqvarna Automower and iMows are fully automatic, they work inside an electronic fence created by a boundary wire. When batteries run low, they return to the charging station for a recharge – no need for you to do anything. After a one-time installation, you’ll enjoy a more or less maintenance-free lawn for many years. You’ll hardly know it’s there, although many of our customers are very proud of their robots and show them off at every opportunity. Our customers love them and, to date, every robot mower we’ve ever installed has been given a name by the owner, such is the affection people feel towards such a wonderful addition to their garden. And many of these customers have been extremely sceptical at first.
The evidence is clear.
In Sweden, around half of all grass cutting machines sold are robot mowers, in Switzerland it’s almost 60% If you start a petrol engine lawnmower on a Sunday afternoon, you are considered to be extremely anti-social. In the UK we are way behind – just less than 1%. But the way forward is obvious, and it is almost certain that most of our lawns will be cut by robotic mowers in the future. It is a proven technology that works.
We have three large lawn areas that are interconnected and at first I was extremely dubious as to whether a robot Lawnmower was the way to go. Chris assured me and we installed and Set up the Automower. We have named it Fergal. For first week we required some fine tuning but after that it just mows and mows and mows and our lawn quality has improved dramatically. Fergal has been working for over a year and we are absolutely delighted with him, I would highly recommend that Mincost install one for you immediately.
Very pleased with my Automower experience from Mincost, best gardening investment I’ve ever made. With a large garden,in the growing season, I’ve now saved myself a day a week mowing – well worth it !
